The History of the Estate
The Domaine de Marculfo is housed in a former presbytery dating back to the late 18th century. Once associated with the Church of Saint-Marcouf, this place still bears the mark of a rich spiritual and historical heritage, in the heart of a Norman village steeped in the memory of Saint Marcouf.
Nearby, the Church of Saint-Marcouf houses the tomb of the saint, an important figure in local history. At its entrance stands an exceptional yew tree, which, according to tradition, was planted during the Napoleonic era. Carefully restored, the building has retained its character as a historic home while embracing modern comforts.
The renovation work has preserved the elements that give the place its charm—its spaciousness, cozy atmosphere, garden, and the character of an old house—while creating welcoming, functional, and warm guest rooms. Today, Le Domaine de Marculfo tells a new story: that of a Norman house where you feel right at home from the very first moment, and which you leave wanting to return
