Laurent, the owner of « les3chambres » guesthouse, proposes you to explore the neighborhood « La Nouvelle Athènes », in the heart of the 9th arrondissement of Paris, where urban layout helped to develop business and tourism activity. Down Montmartre, in a preserved nature where coexisted orchards and mills, appeared from 1820 a district designed by famous residents like Scheffer, Moreau, Delacroix and many others who participated in the civic life. Actors which made this place « a Republic of letters and arts ». Today called « South Pigalle », this place still has a strong artistic influence : museums, including the one of the «Vie Romantique», theaters, art galleries,… that still contibute to the citizens’ today lifes !

Stephanie and Fabrice, the owners of « Les Hauts de Saint Vincent » guesthouse, propose you a romantic and picturesque walk in the heart of Marqueyssac gardens, one of the most visited sites in Perigord. The domain offers over 6 km of shaded walks that wind around a 19th century castle. The boxwoods are set off by an arrangement showing great imagination and full of movement : 150 000 centenarians shrubs, cutted by hand, and many others features like gazebos, rockeries, waterfalls… These «overhanging gardens» dominate the Dordogne Valley with its castles and small villages built into the cliffs, along the river, where you can enjoy one of the most spectacular panoramic view of Perigord.

Marie-Victoire and Christophe, the owners of « La Villa du Square » guesthouse, propose you to discover the Corbusier Foundation, part of which is implanted in their garden. « La Maison La Roche », where the Foundation is located nowadays, was built between 1923 and 1925 by Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret. This house with its piles, its rooftop, its open floor plan, its long strips of ribbon windows and its facade, is a prestigious and outstanding example of modern architecture. This historical monument since 1996 has also been classified as World Heritage by UNESCO this year.

Clare, the owner of « La Maison & l’Atelier » guesthouse, proposes you the visit of the «Domaine de Chantilly». This is the perfect place to spend a family day with special prices. You will be immersed into the rich and turbulent history of French kings through the visit of the castle, the grounds, the great stables and the exhibition « Le Grand Condé ». This jewel in the crown of France’s cultural heritage is the work of Henri of Orléans, a great collector of precious books, paintings and decorative art objects. In 1886, he bequeathed the whole domain to the « Institut de France », at one condition that the Condé museum be opened to the public.

During the local heritage days, many monuments and places will be opened in others regions. Enjoy the weekend to discover for example, the “Maison Carrée” or the arena of Nimes. At La Baule, where you will stay at Benoit’s guesthouse « La Villa La Ruche », Serge Boué, painter and sculptor, and Pascal Bouchard, master of glassmaker, will open the doors of their workshops for an exceptional visit. But you might as well choose to cross borders and go to Geneva, at Alain’s house « Le Jour et La Nuit », where you will discover the landscapes of Rhône to Aire by bike accompanied by a landscape architects group.
